Don't turn in a resume that has at the top "Created by ***** Online Free Resume Creator". It just looks. . . bad.
How Many Jade Robbinses Out There?
by Jade
Well according to HowManyOfMe.com there are 4 other Jade Robbins in the United States. They use census data so I think it's pretty accurate.
How many of YOU are in the US?!

What were you thinking? The truth is this summer has been so hectic I haven't had a chance to use our wonderful new tent to get in the outdoors and sleep on the ground for a few nights. It will happen, eventually.
This month somehow my payroll got screwed up, so I got half of my paycheck on the normal pay date (the 11th) and just today got the other half. Thank goodness, half a paycheck is kind of a pain in the butt. Even when I worked as a student I typically had 30-40 hours a week, so having a half paycheck made us do some scrappin!
"Don't Stop Believing" just started up on Pandora, life is good.
The Summer of Storms

This summer has really been a bizarre one. The summer weather really started about a month late, with a month of rain, snow, and chilly weather replacing it. Now, in the past week we've had 3 killer hail storms that have just ripped through the valley causing damage and flash flooding.
In fact, our office flooded from the last storm! We have this little ramp that goes down to our entrance, and at the end of the storm there was about three feet of water. With only a door between our offices and the deluge, we started getting some water seeping in. Using impromptu damming techniques (plastic with some old shelving) we prevented most of the water from entering the offices, although quite a few got a couple inches in them. The big flood apperently happened in some offices down the way where something in the building broke and they had (in their words) a waterfall. Hopefully everything will slowly come back to normal down here soon, and the poor souls who's offices were flooded can get back to the norm!
New Flickr Group

I recently created a new flickr group called "Not a Bike Rack" where people can post pictures of goofy cyclists putting their bikes in all kinds of weird places that are obviously not bike racks. It's a public group so you only need to join flickr to join and add to the fun!
Field Day at the MSU's research farm!
So, Wednesday was the annual Field Day at the MSU's Arther H. Post Research Farm. My thesis material is planted out there, so Luther, my advisor, thought it would be a good idea for me to give a little talk about my project!
In case anyone is interested, here is a brief description of my project:

Summer Conundrum
by Jade
Summer is the time of free weekends in warm weather with the wind behind your backs, right? WRONG. . . kind of. You definitely do more things and go outside and have fun, the difference is that you have much less control over when it is. I think summer hits, and everyone gets into have fun mode and there always seems to be somethings scheduled every weekend! Now don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad thing. I just personally find it hard to keep track of everything and plan MY OWN events! I swore I was going to go camping like 20+ times this summer and have yet to have a weekend available for such an event. Plus, I want to have camping trips with as many of my friends and family as possible, but also have one or two alone with Amber. I guess there are worse things in life than having too many people want to hang out with you.
I find it funny that I use my PDA more during the summer than any other time!

The Wedding
by Jade
Well, on June 14th, 2008 around 7:30pm I (Jade Robbins) and Amber Weitzel became married. You're welcome farmers, you can finally unlock your daughters. I could painstakingly go through all the details of the day itself, but I'm pretty sure most the people that read this blog were there and for those who couldn't make it they can always look at the pictures. All I can say was that the wedding was absolutely beautiful and exactly what we both wanted. The weather the entire weekend was perfect, I couldn't have asked for more.
For our honeymoon we stayed in the Bird's Nest Treehouse that they offered at Gallatin River Hideaway which was absolutely wonderful. It is just a couple hundred yards away from the wedding site so we were able to get there quick after the ceremony and relax. We stayed 2 nights (the wedding night and the next) and it was soooo relaxing and romantic. There is something very exciting about being in a treehouse (with a hot tub, mind you) with your new wife completely alone with nature. I'm hoping that sometime around our first anniversary Amber and I can return for a couple nights in the treehouse (not joking, this thing was so awesome).
Well that is all I have now, any special memories or fun stuff you would like to share, be sure to put it in the comments!
Wally Byam Webcam

In response to the Wally Byam rally in Bozeman, I decided to set up a webcam facing the Roskie Fields behind my apartment. With this webcam you should be able to see all the craziness going on as they set up for the weekend. I'm trying to find a way to do some time lapse with my DSLR, but I guess I'm just too tarded.
Also, I haven't forgotten the wedding post yet! I'm on it!
